Overview
Overview
This process works on the assumption that you are using one default warehouse and bin (Example: Main Warehouse / Main Bin) for new items, and then transferring the items to their proper location after receipt. This alert will not work well if you are using multiple warehouses and bins for new items. The process will check for serialized items with the inventory codes you have specified in variable Y, where the item is located in the combination of bin and warehouse specified in Variables W and X.
Run Schedule: Daily at 4 pm

Variables
Variables
Variable W: Bin containing string - Bins containing the string that the alert should check. Only one string can be entered; this variable is required.
Variable X: Warehouses - Warehouse to check for this alert, separate multiple warehouses with commas. This variable is required.
Variable Y: Inventory Codes - List the inventory codes to use for the alert. If left blank, will check all inventory codes.

Alert Functionality
Alert Functionality
1. This alert will only trigger once on each item.
2. The item must be serialized.
3. The inventory code on the item must be one of the ones specified in Variable Y. The list of inventory codes can be found in Tools - Lists and Codes - Inventory Codes:
Enter the inventory code into Variable Y. When this variable is blank, the alert reports on all inventory codes.
4. The string entered in Variable W must match the bin the item is in. You can find the list of bins by going to Inventory - Bins:
Enter the string of characters that matches ALL the bins that you want to review with this alert. For example, if you entered 'main' in Variable W, all the bins with Main in the name would be reviewed by this alert.
5. The item must be in one of the warehouses identified in Variable X. Your warehouse list can be seen by going to Inventory - Warehouses:
Enter the Warehouse, not the description, into Variable X.

Best Practices & Tips
Best Practices & Tips
1. Often, when new items are created in e-automate, they are not assigned a physical bin location until the item is initially received. The item goes into the default 'MAIN' bin upon receipt, then the item's default warehouse and bin are set, and then the item is transferred to the proper default bin for the item. This alert is designed to identify serialized items that remain in the 'MAIN' bin, indicating that a default bin was not assigned or the item was not transferred to that bin after receipt.
2. Bin defaults are set on the Bin Defaults tab of the item record:
