Returning Items to Needed Warehouse / Bin

There are four options to facilitate returning items.

1. Customer Returns (RTV, defective Return to Vendor)

2. RMA

3. Sales Order with negative quantity

4. Inventory Adjustments

To ensure the correct warehouse / bin is used, there are a few settings needed in eAuto.

Step 1:

Set the Default bin settings on warehouse you will be using for returns via Inventory / Warehouses:

Step 2a:

Under Tools / Options / Company / Main Branch Settings set the Warehouse to be used for RTV returns:

Step 2b:

Create / Set Return Codes. We suggest using one Return Code for RTV (Return To Vendor/Defective) and one for RMA (surplus return that will eventually go back into inventory):

For RTV Return Code, use Stock Type = Defective

For RMA Return Code, use Stock Type = Unavailable

Select which warehouse to use for each Return Code, then select Quick Add:

Now you have all needed settings in place for automating Warehouse / Bins for Customer Returns, RMA's and negative Sales Orders!

See 4. Inventory Adjustments below on where/how to set.

1. Customer Returns (RTV, defective Return to Vendor)

Customer Returns does not require a Return Code on first screen, but once user enters an Item, then a Return Code is required and that Return Code overrides the Warehouse / Bin:

2. RMA

RMA requires a Return Code and that Return Code overrides the Warehouse / Bin:

3. Sales Order with negative quantity

Sales Order with negative quantity, will automatically require user to enter a return code, then a Return Code is required and that Return Code overrides the Warehouse / Bin:

4. Inventory Adjustments:

On Item Record / Bin defaults tab:

Set which Warehouse / Bin to use for each Transaction Type.

**Please note, setting Sales Order FulFillment here will override Warehouse / Bin use on ALL Sales Orders (both positive and negative quantities). Best to not use here and let your Company default settings be your default. This should only be used for exceptions to this rule.

By setting these Transaction Types on Item Record, when user selects the corresponding Inventory Adjustment Type, the Warehouse / Bin set on Item Record is automatically used:

You can use the InventoryBin Import Utility to bulk update
