Alert Functionality
Alert Functionality
1. Alert reviews meter readings entered into the system within the specified amount of days prior to today's run date. The number of days the alert looks back is defined by you in Variable Y.
2. Next, alert reviews meter readings within the timeframe to look further at any with a meter source that you specify in Variable W.
3. Next, alert reviews meter readings to locate any entries where the exact same meter reading has been entered multiple times on a piece of equipment. The number of times it's been entered is defined by you in Variable X.
4. Next, the alert looks at the 6-month volume average on the equipment in e-Automate in order to include that in the output report.
In the example screen shot below, the meter source of "FMAudit" was listed in Variable W, the minimum number of entries for the repeat meter was 3 and the number of days to go back from today's date was 5. You can also see in the upper right-hand corner the 6-month average is highlighted.

Best Practices & Tips
Best Practices & Tips
It is recommended that when you receive this alert that you log into your meter collection software to look for any signs of an error. This could look like a meter mapping issue, or even meter reads jumping up and down with no clear reason why. It is imperative at that point to collect true meter from the customer to continue troubleshooting against what the meter collection software shows. Perhaps the client has printed a lot lower or higher, but it should be reviewed. If the meter source came in from a technician or end user at customer site, you can validate with those parties.
