To send an audit report of Adds/Changes to customer records on the critical fields. This is so you can expand the person(s) who you allow to create/edit customer records and send this audit report to one person who can review the information for accuracy. This relieves the bottleneck of having just one person who can add/update customer records. For new records all information is shown. On changes the original values are show with the updated values.

The Customer Fields that are checked for changes are:
Customer ID, CustomerNumber, CustomerName, Location, Attn, Address, City, State, Zip, Phone1, Phone2, Fax, Term, SalesRep, DoFinCharges, TaxCode, EIN, TaxNumber, CustomerType, Hold, Active, Technician, ShipMethod, Territory, CreditLimit, EquipmentContact, DecisionContact, ChargeMethod, ARContact, ConsolidatedBillingEnabled, EnableCustomPricing, SendStatements, MeterContact, InvoiceMethod
NOTICE: some results in “Updated by” field can be misleading in various ways.
a) If Julie creates the customer record in July 2011 her info will be in the “Updated by” field at the customer record level. If Ann comes into Customer record today and updates a Contact record her name is recorded as the updater on the contact record BUT NOT the Customer record. This alert reports changes to the entire customer account BUT only returns results from the Customer “updated by’ field. This is a known issue with this alert that cannot be resolved at this point.
b) Depending on how often you have this alert set to run it may only report the LAST updater. If Julie changes the customer record in one field at 8 am and Ann changes it again in a different field at 3 pm then the report fires Daily at 5 pm then Ann will be listed as the updater.
c) If Julie enters into a customer record to view information and uses the 'OK' button to exit (instead of the 'Cancel' button), she will be logged as the last updater even though she didn't actually make a change.
We added the “updated by” field to this alert after multiple customer requests, but it is not always reliable so please take care not use results as hard fact.
