DCA API Integrations - Overview

Most dealers are moving to a drop-ship model for toner, which involves a good calculation for "days until empty". Using CEO Juice versus the native integration can push in meters, push in supply orders, but also fine-tune days to empty, put orders on hold for review if needed, apply error checking, only push into EA meters needed for billing to avoid meter bloat, and pull in DCA data into reports, for example, non-managed devices in our Power BI dashboards.

In the past, dealers would try to standardize on a single DCA, but now more models come with embedded DCAs, and remote fixes via the manufacturer’s DCA can completely avoid calls. Plus, network security is a high priority, and predictive data is getting better. We also have great reporting now around non-managed devices, and some DCAs charge for that. If you have concerns, you can ask us to hide customer data in the DCA from your manufacturer.

For any of the DCAs below that you would like our integration with, you can begin by subscribing to the corresponding ID for the DCA and setting up your API credentials. Each DCA will have its own process for creating the API credentials. Instructions for each can be found at the links below.

We do not have integrations or plans to implement an integration with these DCAs:

• PrintAudit and PrintFleet: ECi has these listed as end-of-life, and there has not been enough client interest in developing an integration.
• ImageWare (Canon), @Remote (Ricoh), and Vcare (Konica): We have not been successful in obtaining API credentials from these manufacturers, and/or they have a contract with ECi.

Phase Two Features

"Phase Two" - Enhanced Data Update Features

Phase Two keeps your DCA and e-automate in step automatically, so details like IP addresses, equipment numbers and managed status don’t need updating by hand in two places. You choose which updates you want using variable options on your DCA’s process ID. Any update with the same name works the same way on every DCA, but options may vary between DCAs.

Phase Two is currently active for EKM (ID448), and in beta for HP SDS / MPS Monitor (ID311), and coming soon for KPAX (ID76). For EKM, updates start in Test Mode, so anyone on your ID448 subscription gets an email showing what would change before anything is updated. See each process’s article for how to switch the options on.
